A goalless draw on a cold afternoon at the Reina Sofía de Salamanca between Unionistas and Algeciras CF, in a match in which our team dominated and had more chances than their opponents to take the three points.
The first half ended with no goals on the scoreboard, although both teams had their chances to take the lead, but the goalkeepers responded to keep a clean sheet. Roni had the clearest chance in the 20th minute, after a good through ball by Ferni. The goalkeeper won the one-on-one battle with the Asturian striker. Ferni’s own header was then blocked by a defender when it was already going in between the posts.
The second half was more dominated by Algeciras. Possession and chances also went to the visitors, especially one by Jordi Figueras from a corner just a few minutes into the second half. Our team would look for a goal that would not come to end the 90 minutes with a goalless draw and a share of the points in Salamanca.
